Guidelines
The ASD Mandala Trail organizes the Amalfi Coast Trail, with the collaboration of SGE20.COM "Outdoor Events & Services" (technical supervision), Mandala Organic Tours (specialized tour operator) and with the support of the municipalities of Agerola, Amalfi, Conca dei Marini, Furore, Praiano, Positano and Vico Equense.
1 – How to participate
The Amalfi Coast Trail is an outdoor sport event with 3 different participations options.
Race experience: time trial race with cut-off times, on marked path and with final rank.
Running experience: walking or running option at your pace on different stages, on marked path but without final rank. The start will be one hour before the trail-running race start.
Trekking experience: trekking without race bib escorted by a trekking guide on unmarked path, maximum 3 houres per day.

2 – Participation requirements
The participation is open to men and women over 18 years of age. The number of participants is limited to 40 for the Race experience option and to 20 for the Running experience and Trekking experience options. These thresholds have been chosen in order to guarantee an high quality level of the services for each participant.
The minors (under 18 years of age) can only participate at the Trekking experience option and only escorted by an adult.
3 - Enrolment
To enroll is necessary to fill the online form on this website, read and agree the race rules and pay the registration fee.
Only after the payment is received by the organization the enrolment is confirmed.
At the moment of the registration the participant has to choose one of the participation options. Only for the Race experience option is possible to change the participation option (for one or more stages) once the event is afoot. Other modifications are not allowed.
4 – Enrolment due date
The registrations will close once the maximum number of participants is reached or in alternative the 01.03.2018

6 – Itinerary informations
The route is mainly on tracks and dirt roads, classified according the CAI criteria (Club Alpino Italiano, for more informations): E (hiker) and some EE (expert hiker) sections. Besides there are many staircases and some short sections on sealed road.
It is requested an excellent technical and fitness level, and expertise on facing tracks in relation to the lenght and the elevation gain of each stage.

The itinerary will be marked by the organisation with paint and colored ribbons.
There will not be any refreshment along the route. There will be a refreshment only at the end of the stage with snacks and drinks.

The medical certificate of sport eligibility is compulsory for all the ones who chose the Race experience or the Running experience options.
The medical certificate has to be shown at the organization during the race bibs delivering and it has to be printed. The certificates sent by email are not accepted.
The participants can choose to use the specific form given by the organization, that has to be signed and stamped by your physician.
In case of missed delivering of the medical certificate, the participant can choose to take part at the Trekking experience option.
8 – Recommended and compulsory equipment
Each participant has to carry with him the compulsory material during each stage.
During the briefing before each stage (it takes place the evening before) it will be specified which equipment (from the following list) is compulsory according to the weather forecast for the next day.
There will be random inspections at the start or during each stage.
The participant caught without the compulsory material will be excluded from the stage.

- water provision (at least 0,5 liters)
- long sleeve rain jacket
- hat (or head band) and gloves
- food provision (e.g. snacks, gel, dried fruits)
- cellphone with the number of the organization

There will be a final rank only for the participants at the Race experience option. It will be the sum of the times of each stage.
All the participants that will not finish a stage will be registered with the time of the last arrived plus a penaly of one hour.
The awards will be for the first 5 men and women of the general rank, plus the first 3 men and women of the over50, plus the first man and woman over60 category.
10 – Baggages
The organization recommends as a baggage a soft bag with wheels in order to facilitate the transfer. It is recommended a small purse for the transfer of the changing clothes at the end of each stage.
We recommend to keep the necessary for the race (shoes, clothes, compulsory material) in the hand luggage during the flights. Unfortunately sometimes the checked baggages are lost and the flight companies need some days to retrace them.
11 – Climate
During the period chosen for the race there should be good weather condition, with daily temperature around 15°C - 20°C.
During the night and in the morning the temperature can range between 5°C to 10°C.
In case of bad weather the temperature can drop as low as 0°C to 5°C in the highest parts of the route.
However is not excluded that there could be intense precipitations.
12 – Respect of the environment
To protect the environment is one of the goals of the organization.
The organization encourages all the participants to make environment-inclined choices in order to avoid a wastefulness of resources (e.g. water, food, energy, etc…).
The Amalfi Coast Trail endorses the “Io non getto i miei rifiuti” (I don’t throw away my rubbish) campaign and intends to become sensitize the participants of the environment they run in.
Any participant that will throw away any kind of rubbish, or will waste any kind of resources on purpose, will be fined by the organization according to the seriousness of the act.
13 – Solidarity statute
In case of accident along the route is essential to intervene quickly. For this reason is compulsory for each participant to give help to any participant who needs assistance along the route. To warn the organization, to give help and to wait up to the arrive of first aid are duties of every participant. The time lost to give help to an athlete will be subtracted at the end of the stage.
14 – Meeting point
The expenses to get to the meeting point are not included in the registration fee. It is important to get in time at the meeting time, so organize in advance. The organization is not responsible for any transport delay or cancellation. In case of delay the participant has to contact the organization and has to provide by himself to reach the rest of the group.
15 – Revocation by costumer
In the event of revocation by an athlete or by a supporter after having already confirmed the entering, there will be a fee as refund to the organization:
- up to 90 days before the starting date: 25% of the cost of the package will be retained by the organization
- between 89 and 60 days before the starting date: 50% of the cost of the package will be retained by the organization
- from 59 days before the starting date: 100% of the cost of the package will be retained by the organization
16 - Revocation by the organization
In the event of revocation caused by special circumstances, such as flooding, earthquake, landslide etc., or because of the failure to attain the minimum number of participants, the entering fee will be totally refunded.
The organization reserves the right to modify or cancel one or more stages because of safety reasons, and without notice; in this case there will be no refund.
17 - Extension of staying
It is possible to extend your holiday simply informing the organization Mandala Trail at the moment you submit your enrollment form. Please write to info@amalfitrail.it
18 – Image copyright
Every participant renounces expressly of the image copyright during the competition and renounces to any plea against the organisation and his partners for the use of his image.

All your personal data (name and photography) will be treated with computers or manual tools by ASD Mandala Trail in regard of the privacy regulations. All the data are used for: contest enrolment, journey organization, pictures publication on our website, fiscal obligations, and law obligations. Your personal data will be process only by staff. Your personal data could be communicated to a third part for the purpose listed above and in order to organize the journey. The communication of your personal data is compulsory in order to carry out the event.
